Bing and Other Search Engines

Badke discusses other search engines other than Google – both “scholarly” and those “for the rest of humanity”.  His first focus is on scholarly.  Microsoft’s Bing is now a distant 2^nd in regard to usage behind Google, and many people find it a useful alternative to Google.

Part 1  Search a topic of your choosing, comparing bing.com and google.com with ask.com and the newcomer blekko.com.  Do the results seem similar?  Is one easier to use for you?  Which one is best in your opinion?  There are no wrong answers!  Go ahead and choose a non-academic topic here, if you want.

Part 2  Badke suggests some specialized search engines that focus on journals and other more academic resources.  Try searching these and report your results.  You might compare them with Google Scholar.
